Do you remember this song from the movie Dumbo? I'm a Disney movie fan, especially the classics! When my husband and I were in college, my mother-in-law would mail us the latest Disney VHS release along with a box of surprises. My oldest son was 2 years old and he would get so excited about those movies! He watched them so many times that I could recite entire movies and songs in my sleep.
Some songs just stick in your head and the Pink Elephants on Parade from Dumbo was that one song for me. I don't even like it! However, when I was brainstorming ideas for a card for the Cupcake Inspirations pink and white color challenge, the song inspired me.
No, I wasn't drunk or hallucinating goofy things, though "seeing pink elephants" is a comical way to describe someone who is very drunk! The phrase has been used in songs about drinking, and there is even a drink named in it's honor. So, I thought it would make a cute invite for a girls' night out!
I didn't stop there...while I had the Club Scrap Mumbai supplies out I made a few more cards.
I ended up using some of my scraps from my "Off the Cuff" Art Journal project for the layers, instead of cutting up another whole sheet of patterned paper.
I used three different colors of Club Scrap ink for this focal image, Sapphire, Fuschia and Topaz. I finished it off with some gems from my stash and highlighted with Diamond Stickles. (The full supplies list will be included at the end of this post.)

ReplyDeleteThank you! That After Five kit was a favorite of mine. I missed the release (before my Club Scrap time), but I bought the digital kit, most of the card stock and the stamps from Annette. That mini martini glass the elephant is holding is from the digital kit!
