You never forget your first love.
This was my fourth birthday. I loved that bike. I even remember the day I rode it without training wheels. My dad was running down the street holding the back of my bike and suddenly I was riding it all by myself! My dad re-gifted this bike to me on my 8th birthday. He refurbished it adding a sparkly banana seat, an orange flag on the back, reflectors that made a popping noise when I rode and a water bottle holder! Flash forward 40 years and I still like my bicycle gadgets. I have flashing lights for riding at night, a rear view mirror, a pouch for my repair kit and Iphone, AND a water bottle holder!
Today's post is part of the Club Scrap Pattern Play blog hop. I love the designs in this kit! I rarely make things for myself and it has been a loooooong time since I have made a scrapbook page with paper instead of digital. I don't remember taking this photo, but I sure do remember my first love and it deserves it's own page!
I colored the wooden word art navy blue to match my dress and tied it together with the little blue buttons that came with this month's Club Scrap Deluxe Pattern Play kit.
I pulled out my trusty Club Scrap® Idea Deck for the sketch. These things are awesome...the cutting instructions are on the back so you don't waste a scrap of paper!
I had plenty of paper left, so I decided to make something else. Club Scrap® has so many fabulous projects, I just had to peruse my collection of Scrap Raps and found this tutorial!

I used the cutaparts and stamp images from the kit and that AWESOME black print card stock!

ReplyDeleteLovely memories and patterns, I like to bike too!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted! I've inspired my friends. Our riding group is getting bigger!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join your group if I was near you, I would. I've been a bike rider since forever. I've always had a bike and rode it. I wear a helmet like you too. I have a green Giant hybrid bike.
ReplyDeleteI'll be ready for a new bike in a few months. What do you think about your hybrid bike? I have an inexpensive Schwinn right now, but I have my eye on a Specialized hybrid.
ReplyDeleteGreat LO and card. What Scrap Rap is that project from? I'd like to see if I have it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove that "Flexagon!" Great use of the patterns and papers!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect for how I use it, not a lot off trail and I used to have a road bike and I am done with those.
ReplyDeleteWhich hybrid are you thinking of?
Thanks Lynn! The Scrap Rap is from the Scholarship 2010 kit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam!
ReplyDeleteNot sure exactly which one, but the brand is Specialized. I saw it at my local bike shop and want to test drive it first!
ReplyDeleteThose colors are so striking. What a cool kit. I love the now and then photos of you on your bike!
ReplyDelete😜 Thanks Heidi!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that flexagon card. I tried to make it once upon a time. I need to give it another go. And a paper LO? You go, girl!
