Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge Blog Hop! Today I'm using elements from some of Club Scrap's digital kits to create a few "mash up" scrapbook layouts of my sweet nephew Gus' first birthday party!

A year goes by fast, it feels like we were just waiting for baby Gus to get here. He had a fun party with grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and lots of presents!
[caption id="attachment_6917" align="alignnone" width="864"] Digital kits: Dungarees and Matrix backgrounds. Dungarees stitched title font. Fibers from Dungarees, Take Wing and Celebrate. Matrix tag. Jubilee balloons. Presents created in Photoshop Elements using Matrix backgrounds.[/caption]
While Gus opened gifts, his cousins and friends had fun on the giant slide.

Ellie Belle took over the photography and captured some great shots! The boys wanted to make a slo-mo video and Ellie obliged...

Her pictures turned out so good and she's such a good "big cuz" to all the little cousins!
We had a happy day celebrating sweet Gus!

This month's challenge is a "Mash Up" of items from at least two past Club Scrap® collections. I used items from six different Club Scrap Digital kits, a Quick Drop Digital Layout (QDDL) and ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbooking) instructions from the current month's kit Adirondacks. If you happened to miss out on some of Club Scrap's paper kits, you should really check out all the corresponding digital kits! All you need is your computer and a software program that works with layers, JPG and PNG file types. Club Scrap recommends Adobe's Photoshop Elements (tutorials are geared to this program) and GIMP (a free alternative program). Click here for a quick video tutorial on using GIMP with Club Scrap's QDDLs. I won't lie to you, there is a bit of a learning curve when using digital scrapbooking kits. But once you've mastered the basics, learning new techniques is easy AND you can print your projects and use the kit elements over and over. If you can do it with paper, you can do it with these digital scrapbooking kits! Click here to receive a free mini digital kit download and try it out for yourself!
Be sure to check out what the rest of the artist team has created by beginning the hop on the Club Scrap blog!

ReplyDeleteThat looked like a great party and such a fun time. You took some great shots and created wonderful pages with all of these digital kits, Wendy! Everyone looks so happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hetty! I love my sweet family!
ReplyDeleteWendy, what a great idea to mash up the digital kits!! Love all these layouts and fantastic photos!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Julie!
ReplyDeleteI had to do a double take on these Wendy. I didn't believe they were digital. Great shadowing and layering. The gifts and balloons are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you for noticing! I strive for that. I had to duplicate the balloons a few times to get them to be more opaque, but I am really proud of that little cluster!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great selection of digi mash-ups, Wendy! It was like a game of "I spy" trying to find all of the different kit elements. Super fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! It was a fun challenge!
ReplyDeleteAwesome layouts Wendy! I love how you included the videos on your post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam! It's nice to have everything in one place, otherwise I'll forget about them!
ReplyDeleteThe layouts just drew you in, Wendy. The kits you used worked so well together! I'm coming to enjoy digital more and more for the space and time savings. Great job with what I believe is your first challenge here!
