Monday was the Great American Eclipse 2017 and we were "eclipsing" so hard!

My crazy husband is the videographer. I wish I had money for every time someone asks me, "How can you live with this guy?!" I just shake my head and say that he makes our lives interesting!
I made an art journal layout to commemorate the day. Technically, I made it for the Club Scrap Artist Team Pinterest Challenge blog hop, but the idea came to me after the eclipse! Inspired by Pinterest’s newest feature, “Tried it”, the Artist Team challenge this month is to visit the Club Scrap Pinterest account, choose a Pin with a technique or tutorial that inspires us, then make pages, cards or other projects inspired by that Pin. Lisa was my muse with this pin of her underwater background!

I turned the underwater background into a galaxy!

Club Scrap Nice To See You and Destinations stencils (no longer available). Sunglasses elements from the Club Scrap Tahiti digital kit. Just for Fun Rubber Stamps Man in the Moon stamp image. Club Scrap black shimmer cardstock.[/caption]
We weren't in the path of totality during the eclipse, but the sky looked smoky like when there is a controlled burn in Kisatchie Forest...EERIE!
[caption id="attachment_9705" align="alignnone" width="2097"] YES! I KNOW I stamped the wrong date! (Rolling my eyes...)[/caption]
The dark side of the moon passed between us and the sun!
[caption id="attachment_9706" align="alignnone" width="2976"] Club Scrap Solstice stamp image (no longer available) behind the "man in the moon". Yellow and Xmas Red Stickles for a little moon sparkle![/caption]
I even made a video of my art journal process. Whew! The eclipse wiped me out!

You next stop on the hop is Karen at the Club Scrap blog where you'll find the full list of artist team bloggers. Lots of "Pinspiration" on this hop!

ReplyDeleteI did! I started rummaging through my stamps and then I remembered the stencils and things just came together. The freedom of art journaling really helps jump start my creative mojo!
ReplyDeleteWendy, i love going through my old boxes and make good use of these materials! They are all so beautiful and so many great old stamps!
ReplyDeleteOh me too! Sometimes I think I should go through them and give them away, but I always seem to find a use for them before that happens. Guess I'll just keep them all!
ReplyDeleteLove your art journal pages!!!
