Coffee Talk
I love coffee...hot coffee, iced coffee, coffee ice cream, coffee in the morning, coffee after dinner...Coffee=leisure and relaxation. A "cuppa" coffee, a good book and curled up in my favorite chair? Ahhhhh!
My youngest son painted this when he was in junior high. I LOVE it and and it hangs in my kitchen!
His art inspired mine.

I tried a "new to me" technique. I colored the the stamp with some of Faber Castell's Big Brush Markers, huffed on it to remoisten and stamped on kraft card stock. I've tried this before with watercolor pencils and misting with water, but never markers. I wanted a clean stamped image and this effect was exactly what I wanted. I like how the distressed red paper soaked up the ink on the coffee bean image and blurred the edges!
The new JFF Rubber Stamps monthly challenge is to use a die cut.

Very cute card! I’m with ya on the coffee. I’m actually a little sad each day when my mug of coffee comes to an end... Lol
ReplyDeleteI am a tea drinker but I loved your coffee themed card and the painting by your son! Obviously artistic talent runs in the family :-)
ReplyDeletelove that painting from your son, how cute! yours came out great as well, love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think I was brainwashed by the old Folger's commercials, it really is good to the last drop!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tierney! We are tea drinkers too. My sister bought me a Royal Albert Poppy mug when she was in London a few years ago. I love to drink my hot tea in it. It makes me feel queenly!
ReplyDeleteOh! Thank you! I framed most of their art from elementary school. The art teacher was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the love of coffee! I even have a mocha cheesecake recipe that I make for any occasion that warrants it - like a Tuesday. HAHA! I love your son's picture as well, and your card with the coffee beans is great. ~smile~ Roseanne
Mocha cheesecake! 🤩 I could seriously enjoy a piece right now...with a cup of coffee!
