London Is Calling And I Must Go!

Welcome to my stop on the London Calling blog hop! Today's hop features the February 2015 Club Scrap kit London Calling.

Club Scrap Deluxe kit

These stamps are the "bees knees"!

Greeting Unmounted

I love going through my stash of Club Scrap Scrap Rap magazines for ideas and found the perfect one for this kit, the Scrapbook-in-a-box project from the 2009 Birds of a Feather Scrap Rap. So, without further ado, it's time for tea...

A few years ago my sister and brother-in-law made a trip across the pond and brought me back a Royal Albert coffee mug. This was the pattern the year I was born. So perfect for my photo shoot!
While I was making my project, I kept thinking how I wanted to decorate the cover of the box. I looked up traditional British gifts and one of the tea boxes had the Union Jack as a cover design. So, I made a stencil!

Don't you love how the design in the paper shows through the ink?

Yeah, so I bungled my first attempt. The red diagonal cross I inked blue. Humpf....BUT I ended up liking the second attempt better!

I used the green patterned paper from the CS Lite kit for this one. The pattern showed through the ink on this one too!

I filled the pockets with tea packets and wrapped a few Red Velvet Oreo's in place of English biscuits.
I added a few extra bits and bobs, some cutaparts, vintage mini postage stamps, some tiny teapot embellishments and ribbon.

Instructions on how to make the perfect cuppa. I used the Chancery Cursive font and printed on the blue cardstock from the Lite kit.

Doesn't that sound delightful!

Aren't these the cutest mini vintage postage stamps
I finished it all up with a card. Umm, do you see the boo boo? I didn't see it 'til I was finished. Oh well, I don't really suppose any of the Americans I would give it to would notice unless I showed them a pic of the Union Jack first, so Bob's your Uncle!

The crowns were cut using my Cricut and the Indie Art cartridge.
Grab a cuppa and chivvy along to check out what FABU project Cathy has to share on her blog! Cheerio!

Child's Play Challenge

This is the second week of Club Scrap's Winter PSL and the challenge is to "release your inner child with coloring and doodling"! This is my card for the week...

There is a viral video of +Dee Grunig on Facebook and I watched a few minutes of it and then went to search for the full video on Youtube.  Such a cool technique! I used Club Scrap hybrid re-inkers and makeup sponges to create the background on the Constellations glossy white cardstock. Check out Dee's "unintentionally funny" video, keep sponging Dee!

Throw Me Some Kisses Mister!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Valentines Day blog hop, there's a whole lotta love in this post! There's also a Linky Party on the Club Scrap blog for you to share your own Valentine creations. Link up for a chance to win a cool Club Scrap logo t-shirt! The hop features the new Love Ink kit (which I did not get) and past Valentine kits (which I have hoarded been waiting to use)!

I have nieces and nephews in three different states and they all LOVE to get snail mail. What am I saying, I love to get it too! I packed some fun boxes to send...paper heart garland, cool Valentine themed cups, little gift cards for Chick fil A, Starbucks for the big girls, and CANDY! Oh, and chewy chocolate chip cookies for my brother!

They all received their packages today. My sister-in-law sent this video of her little blondies...I ♥ that baby!

I haven't made Valentines in years and decided to make the Club Scrap Love Blooms G2G cards from 2012. I love this paper...I printed out the card making instructions and tweaked them a bit so I felt like they were mine. I even mailed them on Thursday so that they would arrive on Valentine's Day! (So not like me, I am a procrastinator...)

I also used stamp images from the 2011 Love Inkorporated and My Funny Valentine collections.

And last, but not least, my final card. In celebration of Mardi Gras, because I am a Louisiana girl, I made a Mardi Gras card!

I just got my Dylusions stamps by +Dyan Reaveley in the mail Monday and thought they would be perfect for a Mardi Gras card! I used a quote stamp from the Club Scrap 2011 My Funny Valentine kit and stamped the background with Perfect Medium and dusted with a mix of Perfect Pearls powders. I "watercolored" the embossed Dylusions stamp with Perfect Pearls. Just mix a little water with a tiny bit of PP's and you have some cool shimmery watercolor paint. The jester hat is designed from a couple of different stamp images. The triangles on the hat are stamp images from the 2014 Club Scrap Reunion kit that I cut out. The purple one is embossed with a background stamp from the 2008 Haberdashery kit, as well as the brim. I sewed the little jingle bells on with waxed thread.

I loved Roni's star card from the Constellations blog hop and designed my card base to mimic that style.

12*12 sheet of cardstock scored in half at  6 inches and turned and scored again to make four 6 inch panels. Two opposing panels are scored in half on a diagonal. I folded on all the score lines and folded the diagonal folds in toward the center.

Keep hopping to check out all the Valentine surprises! Your next stop is Cathy at The Artful GamutSo, in true Louisiana Mardi Gras style laissez les bon temps roulez and Happy Valentines Day too! "Throw me some(thing) kisses Mister!"

True Love!

I really liked the technique I used on the fleur de lis card I posted yesterday, and wanted to try it again today with another stamp.

All cardstock, stamp images and ink are from Club Scrap.

The first week of Winter PSL started this week at Club Scrap, as well as the monthly NBUS challenge (Never Been Used Stamps). This card will count for both challenges. Check out all the great artwork that is being posted!

Laissez les bon temps roulez!

This is the first week of Club Scrap Winter PSL. This week’s challenge is to use shapes besides squares and rectangles on your page, card, digital entry or project. Lately, my go to place for inspiration is Pinterest and I found this awesome card!

This is my version...

Cardstock and stamp images are from Club Scrap. Stamped with Club Scrap hybrid ink and shaded with Inktense pencils. Stickles for bling.

I didn't want to cover up the background, so I stamped and embossed on vellum.

It's Mardi Gras season here AND my sister's birthday in a few weeks (the fleur de lis and colors are carnival themed!), so "Laissez les bon temps roulez"!

Twinchies!

Club Scrap member Shona hosted a Twinchie swap. These tiny little 2 x 2 inch pieces of art were so much fun to make!  The swap instructions were simple, "Think of them as tiny scrapbook pages! They can be flat or lumpy, as long as the artwork fits onto the 2 x 2″ base. The theme is yours for the choosing." I pulled from my stash of Club Scrap paper and stamps to create my miniature masterpieces...

"Fleur de lis"

"Wish"

"Chocolat" I fussy cut the cocoa stamp, coated in Glossy Accents and topped with tiny glass beads.

"True Happiness" I "watercolored" with Inktense pencils and added a dab of stickles for bling.

"In Fashion" I love this one! I threaded an embroidery needle with matching ribbon and "sewed" the hat band.

"Artsy Smartsy" I thought I forgot how to make quilled roses! Glossy Accents is the "bomb" when adhering embellishments!

Mini ATC stamp made in Photoshop Elements. It's sooooo tiny I had to type my name and contact information! OMG! I just noticed that I wrote 2014 for the date...ugh....I probably did that on all of them too!

Digital twinchie ATC stamps

I designed the little PNG files to print on 4*6 pieces of cardstock, 'cause I'm "artsy smartsy" like that! Email me if you would like a copy of the PNG file for your twinchies. Thanks for looking!

♫Do you want to build a Snowman?♪

My nieces LOVE the movie Frozen! A friend posted a picture on Facebook of her 3 year old wearing the cutest "Elsa"crochet hat with a braid on the side. Of course I had to find out where she got it so that I could get some for the "little blondies"! I ended up ordering two Elsa hats, one Anna and an Olaf for my 1.5 year old nephew. I was as excited as they were for them to get their snail mail. Their mothers had explicit instructions to take pictures and send them to me immediately! This one was from my sister in Oklahoma. Her first piece of snail mail in OK and her birthday present!

My sister-in-law videoed the drama...

Man, that bubble wrap envie was hard to open!

The other three little blondies in their Frozen hats...

Oh to be little again and get excited by snail mail! ♫Do you want to build a Snowman?♪

Reunion Monthly ATC Swap

Club Scrap members host a monthly kit ATC swap. The rules were simple, "your interpretation of the monthly kit using papers from the kit, embellishments are up to you".  So here are my "pieces of flair" for the January 2015 Reunion kit ATC swap...

"D'Embossed ballz". I used the Stamp a Ma Jig to position the bubbles stamp to create the background. I stamped in black and embossed in black embossing powder. I mixed Perfect Pearls powder and water to make watercolor paint. Love the shimmer!

I liked the look of the embossing and used gold embossing powder on this card. This one is titled "Time for Family".

"Tree of Life". More embossing and PP watercolor.

"Art Imitates Nature". This sentiment stamp is from the 2006 Nature's Wonders Club Scrap kit,

"Cherish the Simple Things"

"Love Blooms". The sentiment is from the 2012 Love Blooms CS kit , and stamped with Distress Ink and dusted with Perfect Pearls.

"Heartwood". This one is my favorite...The little heart is from the CS 2011 My Funny Valentine kit.

"Take a Journey". I scraplifted this idea from the Reunion CS Greeting to Go instructions. I used an embellishment that came from the CS 2010 Destinations kit and altered it with a mix of alcohol ink colors to match.

"Fun in the Sun". Gold and white embossing and more PP watercolors. The "sun" stamp image is from the CS 2009 Artifacts kit, stamped with Distress Ink and dusted with PP.

I found this cute little ATC "Twist" Album with instructions on Pinterest. I sent it with my ATC's as a hostess gift.

I changed the page  measurements to 3.75*5. Score lines are 1/2 inch instead of 1/4. Worked better for me. The font stamp on the front is from the CS 2008 Haberdashery kit.

I didn't have an ATC stamp for the back of my cards so I made an PNG file from a free ATC stamp image I found online. I printed on a piece of 8.5*11 cardstock and cut into 10 ATC cards that have the cute little "stamp" on the back. Send me an email  if you would like a copy of the PNG file for yourself. I'll include the cutting instructions.

The Constellations monthly ATC swap is open now. The due date is February 28, so there's plenty of time if you want to jump in!

Constellations Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Constellations Blog Hop! This hop features the January 2015 Constellations kit. Love that WISH stencil!

I am a Club Scrap Lite kit member and the sentiments on the black printed cutapart that came in my kit led me to my project, especially the "Love you to the moon and back".

I found this interactive card tutorial at Splitcoaststampers called the Never-Ending Card

Here's my version...

I think my 17 year old son liked it! I asked him to video for me and that was his reaction to seeing it for the first time. I love that he appreciates my "scrap crap"!

I cut the cutaparts apart. Say that five times fast!

LOVE the sparkle tape that came in my kit!

Can't wait to make another one, there's so much room for pictures and embellishments! I think some Valentines are in order. My nieces and nephews would love these!

Next up is Cathy at the Artful Gamut. Keep hopping to check out all the FABU artwork!
