Gotta Bur in my Saddle

Welp, dang it. That coronavirus has got us all topsy turvy. While I'm hibernating, I might as well use up my stash to make something purty. If you're stuck at home too, come check out the new Cupcake Inspirations challenge - we want you to add some butterflies to your projects!

I'm combining a cowboy boot A7 card-shaped Silhouette cut file with the new Club Scrap Western kit for a mighty fine pair of boots! (All supplies will be listed at the end of this post.)

Stickin' with the theme, I decided to add a little feminine touch to my boots!

This was one of the easiest cards that I have put together in a long time! I downloaded the file, opened it in the Silhouette Studio program, arranged the pieces on the workspace according to the color of card stock that I would use, and fed the cutting mat into the machine.

Easy as pie!

Now for the fun part! After I arranged all the pieces, I added some flair! I started off inking the edges of the cardstock for a distressed look.

Club Scrap's Earth ink did a nice job of adding a little pop but just couldn't leave this piece bare, especially with the beautiful Western stamp designs. I started out thinking I would apply a tone-on-tone effect with Versamark ink, but I just had to kick it up a notch!

I had my neglected stash of Perfect Pearls still out on my craft table, so I gave it a lick and promise and dusted over the stamped areas with the color Blue Smoke.

Yeehaw! What a good lookin' card!

On a serious note, I hope you and your families are well and that you all stay that way. Take care, spend time at home with your families, clean the house, play in the yard, get crafty if you're bored, and WASH YOUR HANDS!

Happy trails to you!

Rock of ❤

My best friend and my valentine... he plays both positions on this team. We got married 30 years ago, when we were both babies!

November 24, 1990

We've grown up together. We started out "playing house" and built our family.

My "valentine" has a raunchy sense of humor, doesn't mind offending people, likes to be the center of attention, loves us with every fiber of his being, is and has the most loyal friends in the world, you either love him or hate him, but he's mine. I am as in love with this big kid as the day I married him. I don't ever want him to change. He's my Rock of ❤!
Krewe of Chaos Mardi Gras Ball 2012

Today's post is part of the Cupcake Inspirations Love/Valentine theme challenge! I love when my inspiration for a project causes a bloom of creativity! Chris was my muse, the challenge was my theme and I knew I wanted to use elements from the new Turquoise kit from Club Scrap - the bright reds and teals are stunning! (All supplies will be listed at the end of this post.)
I'm on a Perfect Pearls kick lately. I've been shopping in my stash of scrap crap...and my craft room is full of it! 😆 Seriously, I love this stuff. It makes me feel so artsy!

Happy Camper

The new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is up and it's a color theme!

This was a good opportunity for me to play with some of my neglected supplies. I pulled out my Perfect Medium and some coordinating Perfect Pearls for dusting and created this fun card! (All available supplies will be listed at the end of this post.)

Club Scrap Happy Camper stamps and charms.

I recently discovered a new product by Purple Onion Designs - clear mounting stamps.

These clear mounting stamps can be used on acrylic blocks and the different stamping platforms/tools on the market.  The clear stamps can easily be removed after stamping, stored, and used over and over again. They can also be cut down for custom sizing. No more sticky glues, foam mounts or Tack n Peel are necessary! Check out my video to see it in action.

There are some new colors of Perfect Pearls coming soon. I'm so glad I rediscovered this old favorite. I have a few more ideas/techniques for using these colorful pigment powders so stay tuned!

Click here for more color inspiration from the Design Sweeties and I'll look for your artwork in our gallery!

Caffeinated Shopping

I let the Starbucks ad rope me in at the grocery store.

It was chilly outside, I was tired, and I knew I needed to go home and cook after I shopped. So I went to the Starbucks counter and told them to hook me up and add an extra shot. Whatever they gave me tasted good and I sucked it down. I sped through the store, got home with four bags of crap we will never eat, and forgot half of what I was supposed to get.

Will I do it again? Probably. I have to "espresso myself" every once in a while! We're celebrating the holidays at Cupcake Inspirations!

Gerda Steiner Designs is our sponsor for this challenge and is offering a $15 gift code to our randomly chosen winner.

Check out the digital freebies on their website! I downloaded the Christmas Hats and created some digital Christmas magic to add "paper piecing" to Santa's hat!

Here's my digital card paired with elements from Club Scrap's Coffeehouse hybrid kit using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020!

I love creating digital cards. I can make one and print as many as I need! Click HERE to check out what the rest of the design team has created and link up to our challenge with your holiday creation!

e·phem·er·a

ephemera plural paper items (such as posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles.

Got any ephemera lying around? If you've got some, use it on a project and share it with us for the Cupcake Inspirations Ephemera challege!

I have lots of "ephemera", but Taylormadecards4u.com happens to specialize in it and I LOVE these vintage images!

Using a card formula from Club Scrap, I created a set of standing box cards featuring the Retro Santa digital images as embellishments. (All available supplies will be listed at the end of this post.)

I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 to print and cut the digital images. This is so helpful when I have more than a few images that I want to "fussy cut" for my projects.

The Club Scrap card formulas can be utilized to cut and assemble a set of cards quickly. Once I had everything cut, scored, and sorted, the cards came together in less than an hour. Super easy!

The cards fold flat for mailing in an A2-sized envelope!

Crafty Sentiments is our sponsor for the challenge and will be providing our randomly chosen winner with three digital images from their store! Click HERE to link up your creation for a chance to win!
