Club Scrap's December 2014 Reunion Blog Hop!

Welcome! Today's hop showcases Club Scrap's December 2014 Reunion kit. I am loving the tree stamp images in this collection. After I saw the collection spoiler, I had to order all of the stamps! Luckily I am a Club Scrap Lite member and the tree stencil was included in the lite kit this month;).

Of course I had to play with my new goodies, especially after watching one of my favorite TV Weekly video tutorials using stencils.  My CS Lite stencil is now "well-loved"!

My favorite is the blue background! Sprayed with Blue Lagoon and Metallic Copper Memories Mist.

When I need a little inspiration, I flip through my collection of past Scrap Raps or my Idea Decks. I literally closed my eyes and picked a card from my ALCM Idea Deck for this project, because I will spend WAAAAAYYYY too much time deciding on something! I ended up chosing the 9♣ card, and the little booklet card was born.

I didn't finish/embellish the inside pages, but I WILL!

Ready for more Reunion fabulousness? Hop to Shona's blog next or start from the beginning! Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Club Scrap Holiday Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Holiday Blog Hop! The featured stamps for the hop are from Club Scrap's Gnome for the Holidays and I'll be Gnome for Christmas. I ♥ these stamps!

I'm changing things up a little bit today, my husband coaxed me to make a video...

 Here's a closer peek at Santa's Workshop...

The triptych is from the Club Stamp Generations kit 2008. I painted it gold. The doors are Club Scrap cardstock embossed with the Cuttlebug using a Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder. I heat embossed the candy canes and "watercolor" painted with Perfect Pearls mica powder. I have no idea where the brackets came from!

Inside Santa's Workshop! This is where the magic happens. Papa Gnomie needs a spot to relax after all his hard work. He has his favorite comfy chair and a nice light to read his list by and check it twice! Mama Gnomie has some good hearty stew cooking over the fire while she wraps presents for all the good boys and girls!

Check out the fireplace. That is the stencil from Adobe 2010! I used Distress inks and Distress embossing powder so it looks and feels like brick. I free hand cut the fire and the logs. The kettle was cut from a Cricut cartridge and embossed with UTEE. I sprayed the fire with gold perfect pearls. The stockings are heat embossed and "watercolored" with Perfect Pearls powder.

Mama and Papa Gnomie! They like to dress in their finest for special occasions. Here they are in their Christmas attire!
I stamped the "gnomies" and colored using the coordinating stencils. Stickles for bling. I used some flocking on his pants.

Papa's comfy chair...
The background stamps are from Old World Christmas 2008. The candle image is from Holiday WOW 2010 and the chair I cut from a printed cut apart from the 2011 Welcome kit.

Every house has family portraits on the wall! These were done a loooooong time ago, see how young they look?! Papa said the tree needed a blinking star, even though Mama wanted a big bow. Don't worry, she isn't finished wrapping gifts yet!
The tree is the stencil from Groovy Christmas! More Perfect Pearls watercoloring! The portraits are made with Spellbinders dies. Cool huh?

I had so much fun designing and putting this together! (Shhhhhh, I still haven't decorated my own house for Christmas yet! The boxes are down from the attic though!) From our gnome to yours, Merry Christmas!

Stamped Christmas Wreath

I loved this technique from +Jennifer McGuire.

I thought I'd try it with with some stamps from my stash. I found this tiny leaf stamp from +ClubScrap 's Pure and Simple kit from 2009.

I drew a circle with a pencil and used my Stamp-A-Ma_Jig to align the leaf stamp on the pencil line.Stamped with Club Scrap's leaf ink
Sentiment stamp from Club Scrap's I'll Be Gnome for Christmas stencil set

Pop Up Gift Card Holder

We had a group birthday for the Christmas babies in our family today. The girls are growing up so fast, I don't know what to buy for them anymore! So, gift cards were in order. This is my favorite gift card holder. The instructions were in the Club Scrap Scrap Rap September 2009.  It looks like a little present and the gift card is inside. I have made these countless times and have NEVER taken a picture of them! I snapped these before I walked out of the house.

Club Scrap Jubilee 2009 kit papers and stamps. Used faded jeans distress ink and perfect pearls powder.

Papers from Club Scrap Dream in Color 2011 kit. Stamp image from CS Jubilee and stamped with CS inks.

Stamp images from my stash.

Lakes Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap Lakes Blog Hop! I was inspired by two artists this month, +Kay Williamson and +Jennifer McGuire. After I saw Kay's card and Jennifer's video, I had my "Aha!" moment...

Kay's dangling fish embellishment on her card from the Club Scrap Blog post  The Basic Art of Coloring

Jennifer's video from her blog post...

I loved the dangling fish on Kay's card and wanted to have the fish be the floating embellishment on mine. The CS Lite kit doesn't come with stamps, so I had to improvise. CS provides a link for Idea Recipe Cards that are included with the kits, so I downloaded and printed the Borders and Backgrounds image sheet on the white cardstock that came with my kit. I also printed a reverse image so that I would have a front and back of the fish. I fussy cut them out and colored them with watercolor paints and Distress inks.

Sprayed the fish generously with homemade Perfect Pearls opal mist and dried with a heat tool.

Inked the edges with CS Earth ink for definition.

Cut the window with my Spellbinders die cut and Cuttlebug.

The finished card!
The picture doesn't do the card justice, the shine from the Perfect Pearls mists looks iridescent like fish scales!

Sentiment from the CS Gimme a  Ring kit. This stamp is my "go to" for birthday cards!

I am also a CS Digi member and made a layout using the LO Idea Recipe Card. My sister was out of town and we got my niece all to ourselves for the afternoon. Christopher was home for the weekend and Beau loves her "cuzzins"!

LO 1. I used the digital overlay included in the kit and changed the blending mode to overlay for the mint background. I made custom shadows for the pics and photo mattes and labels for the journaling.

LO 2. I changed the effects mode for the background overlay to bevel so that it looks like it was heat embossed.
