Finding Coffee

I love coffee. Can't do without it and will go to great lengths to find some if it isn't readily available. BUT, I am a coffee snob. I like it strong with cream and sugar AND some flair! A few years ago, when my sister was visiting, we decided to stop in and pay a late night visit to Lorna (her mother-in-law). Lorna is a FABULOUS hostess! She had her coffee service ready when we arrived (she was in robe and slippers!) and had REAL CREAM and sugar to boot! Good conversation and some rich coffee makes for a great ending to a fun night. I want to be more like her when I grow up... I wouldn't have answered the phone that late, let alone make coffee and entertain. She is a true "southern lady"! Seriously. She's from south Louisiana!

My card features the Finding Coffee free digi stamp from Stamplorations, who just happens to be the sponsor for Day 2 of the Cupcake Inspirations 400th Birthday Challenge.

STAMPlorations

They are generously providing a $20 gift certificate to their store, so be sure to make something and link up for a chance to win!

I printed the digi image on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock 8.5x11-and colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The teacups are heat embossed with gold embossing powder and a coat of Crackle Accents. I rubbed Tea Stain Distress ink over it after it was dry. I rubbed the little black frame with Versamark ink and dusted with silver embossing powder and heat set. I wasn't sure it would work, but I love the effect!

Wobbles, Pop Ups and Gift Cards...Oh My!

I just love interactive cards...wobbles, pop ups, pull tabs, etc. I really wanted to make something that I had never made before and dug around in my stash of tutorials. I found a little gem called the Pop Up Gift Card by Andrea Luhman in one of my old Stamp Rap publications from Club Scrap® . This is my version using her instructions!

[wpvideo AxRNgwon]

I used the Steam Punk Balloon stamp from JFF Stamps for the focal image on the front of my card and some FABULOUS card stock from the Club Scrap Delft kit!

AND of course added an action wobble!

The gate fold card opens to reveal two pop up bicycle motif images and a place to insert a gift card in the center.

Wild Thing Does the Wobble!

There's something about "googly eyes" and a wobble that really appeals to me. No, I don't have a thing for old men, but I LOVE this little wild thang!

CIC 398 DRS Designs Wobble 056E

This week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is sponsored by DRS Designs and they also shared some of their stamps with the Sweeties! I chose the One Line Wild Thing sentiment to go with the Goblin and he looked like he needed some googly eyes and a wobble! The Action Wobbles that I just bought were too big, so I made my own with a little wire, some tape and a little help from this tutorial by Craft Spot by Kimberly. It worked like a charm!

[wpvideo bNZx2cN4]

The goblin is 1.5" x 1.25" and thought he would be the perfect focal point for an ATC. I haven't made any in a while and I love making mini works of art. I may have to make a Wild Thing series of cards!

[caption id="attachment_5616" align="aligncenter" width="3648"]CIC 398 DRS Designs Wobble 054E Club Scrap® card stock and Love Inkorporated heart stamp image (Love Ink Digital images available). The heart stamp image was colored using Big Brush Markers as well as the shoes on the goblin and background "watercolor" splatters. The sentiment and goblin images were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger Copper embossing powder. Diamond Stickles was added for sparkle. The card was framed using Versamark ink and Ranger Silver embossing powder. Gems and googly eyes from my stash.[/caption]

Hmmmm, well, you know it's handmade when you leave your fingerprint in the heat embossing!

Check out the challenge here and be sure to visit the rest of the Sweeties and leave them some love!

Some"bunny" is Having a Birthday!

I am not a fan of marshmallows, but I LOVE this marshmallow bunnies stamp set!

I designed the sentiment using the Agent "C" font in Photoshop Elements and printed on Club Scrap card stock.

I gave my little popped up bunny a generous coat of Diamond Stickles to resemble a Peep marshmallow.

This card is perfect for all of the spring Birthday babies in my family!

BLOG CANDY ALERT!

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps (JFFRS) hosts a monthly challenge and the randomly chosen winner will receive a gift certificate to shop in their online store. Click here for more design team inspiration and to link up your artwork for the March Birthday Challenge!
