Mother's "May"!

My best friend Sheri hosted a Mother's Day celebration!

Sheri and Amy gave a beautiful welcome speech and it was decided that the month of May should be "Mother's May"! It was a rainy Saturday, but we had great food (party food is my weakness!), beautiful flowers and good company!

These ladies were a hoot! We played the Garden Glove Unwrap game and some of these "sweet thangs" are pretty competitive when it comes to prizes!

They even set up a backdrop for "Mother's May" photo sessions!

Some of our favorite ladies were missed, but we all had such a good time that we decided it should be an annual event!

Of course I had to tie this fun gathering in with a card!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Spring 2019 has been wet and rainy. The pollen was rough this year. I hope all of this rain brings lots of May flowers!

Jennifer McGuire inspired me again! This fun cut-up stamping technique is super easy to create and is pretty enough to pop in a frame!

https://youtu.be/eUVSmFsDVUY

I used the JFF Stamps American Beauties stamp image to create my card panel combined with card stock from the Club Scrap In Bloom page kit. (Available supplies will be listed at the end of this post.)

JFF Stamps American Beauties

The image was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with fine white embossing powder. Using the instructions in the video, the panel was trimmed into four pieces and the edges inked with Club Scrap white pigment ink. The sentiment was stamped with Blueprint blue Distress Oxide ink - it was a perfect match for the spring time blue card stock!

Imagine

"The faculty of imagination is both the rudder and bridle of the senses."

Leonardo Da Vinci

JFF Stamps Leonardo stamp image and Imagine word art. Club Scrap card stock.

It's amazing what I can come up with when I let my imagination free! I limited myself to a handful of never used stamps, my box of paper scraps and an action wobble.

I Wheelie Want to Ride my Bicycle!

I miss riding my bike...

My best friends and I were riding regularly and we got off track with our busy lives. As soon as the time changes, I'm hitting the road again and I'm dragging them with me!

I made this a birthday card for the crazy chick in sunglasses ⬆! She's a year older and wiser and we need our bodies to stay in shape for all the crazy stuff we still want to do!

Club Scrap card stock and JFF Stamp images. You'll find the complete supplies list at the end of this post.

Inside is a spinner feature!

Jennifer McGuire recently published this Youtube tutorial and I couldn't resist making one for myself!

Musical Trio

A few months ago I started to make a set of cards, got distracted and put the scraps aside for another day. Today is the day because the music themed card stock was perfect for this month's JFF challenge!

JFF Stamp images, Club Scrap card stock.

I used a number of JFF stamps to create this set of cards. My first card features a vintage stamp image titled Music Men and makes an interesting focal image. I stamped with black Staz On ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The Record Background stamp makes a fun pattern. I stamped the Treble Clef in black Staz On as well and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The small size works great as an accent piece on coordinating card stock with a bit of matching ribbon.

For this last card, I stamped the Record Background on pink card stock and punched out a few images to add as a fun embellishment for the background paper.

There's still time to join the February challenge!

Owl Be There!

If there's anything I can't stand, it's a smart owl! 😂

https://youtu.be/O6rHeD5x2tI

How many licks did it take for YOU to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop? I think I lost a few baby teeth trying to bite into those things by the count of three!

I absolutely LOVE the stamptangle line from JFF Stamps! The zentangle-like designs that fill the images make them so unique and different! The Stamptangle Owl Be There image reminds me of those Saturday morning commercials.

I found a fun owl themed quote on Pinterest to complement the owl image.

I measured the image, typed out the quote in Photoshop Elements to fit neatly next to the owl image and printed on Kraft card stock.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to design the background for a fun layered look. I took a little extra liberty with the sketch to suit my card design!

I stamped the owl image onto navy card stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder for a bold effect. I fussy cut the image and mounted with foam tape, assembled the layers and I finished it off with a pair of spectacles made with gold Fun Wire!

The JFF monthly challenge is still going strong! This month is a color challenge and we'd love for you to join us for a chance to shop at JFF Stamps.
