Links to all supplies used will be listed at the end of this post.

This was my first time making handmade paper and it was soooo easy using the Arnold Grummer Papermill.

I "binge-watched" the tutorials on the Arnold Grummer YouTube channel and was fascinated with all the different techniques. I was especially interested in adding botanicals and surface embedment! Part of our supplies included the Arnold Grummer Papermill and two Garden Presses. I cut some flowers and leaves from the garden behind my office and pressed them using the Garden Press. I LOVE how they turned out!

I decided to use the leaves to complement the blog theme. I am saving the flowers for another project 😉.

Club Scrap's monthly kits come with matching photo mats and I used them to make the paper pulp. The colors turned out beautiful! I blended the paper pieces with water just long enough to make the pulp and leaving some larger chunks for pops of color. I also added some of the Arnold Grummer Brilliants for a little sparkle!

Club Scrap's Digital Idea Decks come in handy when I need a little creative inspiration. This set of cards was created using the 8 of ♦ formula from Idea Deck 5. I specifically chose this formula to feature the stamp set and masking stencil from the Falling Leaves kit. The gold embossing and ink spray really creates a punch!

Card 1

The leaf outline stamps and sentiment were inked with Versamark Ink and dusted with gold embossing powder. The images were heat set and the panels were attached with foam tape for extra dimension. Check out the sparkly gold flecks and red bits of pulp embedded in the handmade paper!

Card 2

I used the masking stencil sprayed with Antique Gold Nuvo Mica Mist on red card stock from the Falling Leaves kit. The handmade paper was stamped with a sentiment from the matching unmounted stamps and embellished with leaf charms included with the kit.

Card 3

I liked the effect of the masking stencil and gold spray so much I just had to add it to this panel as well! The handmade paper panel was stamped with another sentiment from the Falling Leaves kit and I added a bow using coordinating ribbon from the kit.

Card 4

This one is my favorite! I stamped the tree image and inked the edges of the card with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I added the rest of the gold leaf charms and a tiny sentiment from the kit. I think it's just gorgeous!

There's lots of handmade goodness left to see...Becky Conley is the next stop on the hop! Thank you so much for stopping by AND don't forget to leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win!

How About a Pizza Pie?

Trattoria Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap® Trattoria Blog Hop! If you started on the Club Scrap blog, then you know this is the last blog hop for the Club Scrap Artist Team. I have been a member of Club Scrap® for many years and being a member of the Artist Team was just the icing on the cake for me. This has been such an awesome experience and I am so honored that I was a part of it! Molte grazie Club Scrap® !

This month's kit is the ultimate kit for foodies. After seeing these stamp images, I had to go with a pizza theme for my project!

[caption id="attachment_12231" align="alignnone" width="600"]1117jumbsq Trattoria Jumbo Unmounted Stamp Set[/caption]

I found this printable pie box template and my creative juices started flowing...or maybe I was just hungry!

How about a pizza pie?

[caption id="attachment_12222" align="alignnone" width="4217"]002E Card stock and wooden die cut from the Trattoria Deluxe kit. [/caption]

Of course I had to fill the box with something!

003E

I enlarged the pie box template to fit on a 12x12 sheet of card stock and designed some pizza slice shaped cards to fit inside. I made a set of four cards, but there is plenty room for more!

Card #1

014E

I stamped the plain side of the green printed card stock with images from the Jumbo Unmounted stamps. I stamped a collage of cheese wedges with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink and stamped an extra wedge onto cream plain card stock. I fussy cut the tiny image, punched holes with a piercing tool for effect and added it to the card front with a foam square. The sentiment and edges are stamped and inked using Club Scrap Earth ink.

Card #2

[caption id="attachment_12226" align="alignnone" width="3456"]015E Trattoria Grazie Stencil, jumbo fork charm and mini bows.[/caption]

This little googly eyed chef made an appearance on a card I made a few weeks ago. I liked him so much I had to make another one! Who would argue with an Italian chef holding a fork?!

Card #3

016E

Yeah, I know the print is upside down...wanna pizza me? This card features the pizza stamp image from the Jumbo Unmounted set and a sentiment from the Greeting Unmounted set. I colored the stamped image with colored pencils and cut the heart out with a craft knife (that sounds like a Mafia crime scene!). I added a piece of dark brown card stock to the back and adhered with foam tape.

Card #4

017E

This one was fun! I selectively inked the fork portion of the tri-panel collage stamp with a Perfect Medium pen, stamped on the edge of the card stock and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I found some yellow waxed linen thread and stitched some "spaghetti noodles".  That Jumbo Unmounted sentiment cracks me up!

Scandinavia or BUST!

Scandinavia Blog Hop logo 2017

I've been member of Club Scrap®  for a long time. When I joined in 2008 I was a newbie scrapbooker. I had a few necessities like glue, scissors, and cheap paper, but when I received my first kit I was in HEAVEN! I had no idea that supplies like that existed! Not only did the kit have all the supplies I needed to create scrapbook pages and cards, it came with INSTRUCTIONS! I am that person, the one who reads the instructions for everything. When it's all said and done, I will know how to put something together backwards and forwards. I'm sure it's an annoying quality to those who know me well, but I will take things apart if someone puts it together wrong. Well, if you're going to do it, do it right the first time! (I hear my Dad's voice in my head every time I say that!)

This binder is full of priceless information - instructions, tutorials and lots of inspiration! It is my collection of Scrap Raps. Club Scrap® used to publish a monthly magazine that was included with each kit. The current Scrap Raps are online on the Club Scrap blog, but anything prior to 2012 is in here!004E

That is where I found this little gem!

[gallery ids="11434,11435" type="slideshow"]

All I had to do was follow the instructions and it was "done right the first time"!

Of course I had to fill the luggage with something. The instructions suggest filling with standard greeting cards and envelopes...so I pulled out my Idea Deck and chose a couple of cards with instructions for the A2 size recommendation.

They all fit in there AND there is still room for more or matching envelopes.

My husband gave me the nicest compliment when I showed him my finished project, "You made that? Out of paper?!"

It's easy when you know how! (WINK!)

The Apple Never Falls Far From the Tree

Welcome to my stop on the Club Scrap blog hop!

Orchard blog hop photo

This month's hop features projects from the September 2017 Orchard kit. I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for fall!

0917csgrpsm

I usually start my posts with a little story inspired by a quote or image in the kit. This quote was the spark that influenced me today...

The apple quote

Oh yes it does! My kids definitely didn't get their athletic prowess from me! I'm an accident waiting to happen. Both of my ankles have had torn ligaments bad enough to wear casts and I tore the ACL in my left knee jumping in the Spacewalk at my oldest son's 5th birthday party. I'm so glad that my boys got their dad's physical abilities! I'm proud of all of their achievements, but I'm most proud of their character. I have two fine sons with good hearts and beautiful minds. I can't ask for better than that. I love this picture...

They're not any different now, just bigger!

ASH vs. Hahnville Playoff Game 2015 1385

They support each other in everything they do. That makes this mama's heart happy. I sure do love my boys!

They always appreciate my artwork and they love interactive cards. Who doesn't? They are so fun to play with! I started off making some cards for the Club Scrap® 09/17 Idea Deck Challenge. This 8♠ card features cutting and assembly instructions to create a tent fold card and two cards with waterfall folds!

IMG_7640E

I used some of the sentiments and images from the Jumbo Unmounted and Art Nouveau stamp sets and embellishments and fibers from the kit to create my cards. I love how the tiny round cutaparts fit in the bottle caps!

[gallery ids="10989,10886" type="rectangular"]

OK, I'll admit I cheated on the trimming. After I cut the first set of card stock, I didn't like the how the pieces paired together. So, I cut everything again, but I strategically cut some of the pieces for pleasing backgrounds. I like the lone apple with this quote!

[caption id="attachment_11034" align="alignnone" width="2695"]IMG_7616E Art Nouveau sentiment and Orchard card stock. Image was stamped in Club Scrap® watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.[/caption]

Orange is not my favorite color, so I made this one to challenge myself. It kinda grew on me!

[caption id="attachment_11035" align="alignnone" width="2686"]IMG_7620E Sentiments and images inked with Club Scrap® watermark ink and embossed with copper foil embossing powder.[/caption]

I'm partial to red...who am I kidding...I love red! I want some more of this red crinkle ribbon!

[caption id="attachment_11036" align="alignnone" width="2934"]IMG_7622E Word art inked with Club Scrap® watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Inked edges using Club Scrap® Earth ink.  Red fiber from the kit.[/caption]

Aren't these entertaining?!

[wpvideo 6JY5inJW]

Here's a video tutorial that is super helpful in constructing the waterfall fold mechanism and a set of instructions to go with it.

I also made a drawstring gift basket to go with my cards. It was so perfect for the kit theme!

IMG_7629E

I used the stencil included with the Club Scrap® Deluxe kit to give the green pieces a wood grain look.

IMG_7631E

Of course I had to fill it with something...caramel apple pops! IMG_7634E
