Wendy - you are here!
All aboard for the Big Apple! I created some digital ATCoins using the New York Passport kit, Baggage Claim tags and Subway tickets.
I started out resizing the elements to print out for ATCoins and created a 2.5 inch circle in Photoshop Elements to use as a test coin. I liked it so much I decided to just make them all digitally! I saved them as individual files so that I can use them as elements on digi layouts later.
1. Fear!
I found an interesting vintage photo of a couple from the 1930's wearing face masks to prevent catching the flu.
I started with the subway map element from the New York Passport kit and built from there. All elements are from the New York Passport kit except for the stitched circle from my digital stash. I used the tools in Photoshop Elements to extract the image of the woman from the photo. I resized and layered all of the digital elements onto the 2.5 inch circle layer I created and moved them around until I found a pleasing design. I added some shadows to the layers for dimension and used the brush tool to create a distressed look to the edges. I added the quote last. It was the perfect complement to the strange photo!
2. I ❤ New York!
I strategically placed the New York background paper element and layered digital elements from the New York Passport kit , Baggage Claim tags and Subway tickets for a fun collage. I added some final touches with shadow layers, distressing on the edges with the brush tool, a fiber from a digital kit in my stash and some text and a heart image.
3. What the eyes see...
I did a little research on the history of Queens and discovered that the great escape artist and illusionist , Harry Houdini, is buried there. I found an eerie photo of the great escapist and created a blending layer over one of the New York PPK digital elements to add a sinister effect. I added a stitched circle from my stash of digital elements, shadow layers and some brush tool distressing. I added a quote and called it done. This one is my favorite!
